Joseph Cocking History
The Joseph Cocking Memorial Scholarship Fund (JCMHSF) was created in honor of Joe Cocking. He was born the youngest of 9 children, and started playing hockey as soon as he learned how to skate at only 4-years old.
He played with SHAW hockey in Milwaukee, Wisconsin from 7 years old to 18 years old (1968 - 1979), and started coaching hockey when he was 17 years old with SHAW hockey as well.
His career involved teaching hundreds (maybe thousands) of kids hockey skills and life skills.

Coach with ACHA program in 2011-12 and 2012-13
He refereed on and off the ice for many years, and was involved with the Milwaukee Admirals and the Chicago Wolves.
Joe played on a number of adult recreational teams.
Mission & Vision
The Mission of the fund is to allow more kids to experience the joy of ice hockey. Our vision is that deserving youth will have the ability to play hockey without having to worry about the financial aspect of the sport.
Goal of the Fund
Annually fund at least one (Wisconsin area) player's fees from each division (Mini-mites, Mites, Squirts, Peewees, Bantam, High School, and College) to provide them with the joy of hockey without some of the financial burdens it may cause to families.
Donations can be made via check or online. All donations are tax-deductible in accordance with federal tax law. Receipts for tax purposes are sent via US Mail within two weeks of donation. Please consider if asking if your employer participates in a gift-matching program. If so, your donation may be matched by your employer.
